His
first engagement in Germany was at the "Kammeroper" in Neuss,
where he performed in J. Offenbachs Opera "Bata Clan" and "Pomme
D'Api". At the Stadtheater (city theatre) of Koblenz productions
like "Freischütz", "Die Verkaufte Braut", "Viva
La Mama" and "Die lustige Witwe" followed. 1994 Harrie
worked in four productions at the Wagner festivals in Bayreuth. His first
musical characters were "Gus/Growltiger" and "Old Deuteronemy"
in Hamburg's "Cats". In the production of Joseph in Essen Harrie
played the premiere cast of "Jakob", "Potiphar" and
the "Guru".
Afterwards
he appeared in Stuttgart as "Maurice von Unruh" and "D'Arque"
in the production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" on stage.
Since 1995 Harrie organises more and more often organisations like benefits-performances
and musical concerts like "Musical Stars for Aid(s)", "Broadway
and Beyond" in Hamburg as well as "Musical Magic" in Stuttgart.
From 1992 on Harrie Poels is known as an official singing teacher for
many musicals like - Cats, Joseph, Beauty and the Beast, and Miss Saigon.
Since January 2000 he is at the musical in Bremen where he also has his
own singing school and gives private lessons.
Harrie
is one at the ensemble swing performing the characters of Utterson, Proops,
Lord Glossop, Sir Danvers, Lord Savage, Bischof von Basingstoke, Poole
and Albert. A many talented person who is now a the weekends at Jekyll
& Hyde and during the week working in Berlin in "Glöckner
von Notre Dame" (Hunchback of Notre Dame).
