Ian
- a baritone singer - war born on Long Island at the US-state New
York. He absolved a classical singing education at the Oberlin Conservatory
of Music and studied historical song praxis at the Duke University
in North Carolina. During this time he worked already at his wide
repertoire, which goes from Gregorian music over baroque up to modern
music.
Ian
won many prices as singer and held concerts in the area of German
art songs in the US, Canada and Austria. He came 1997 to German
as a scholarship holder and exchange graduate student studying for
a doctorate in musicology at the university in Potsdam.
In
Russia, North America and Germany you could see and hear Ian as
soloist in Mendelsohns "Elias" and "Paulus"
as well as interpreter of overtures and church cantatas. The heart
of the Gershwin-expert belongs to the "Golden Age" of
the musicals which many performances here prove.
